- If a recipe calls for:
- 1 cup oil use 1-1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1/2 cup oil use 2/3 cup margarine or butter
- 1 Tbsp oil use 1-1/4 Tbsp margarine or butter
- 1 cup margarine use 3/4 cup oil
- 1 Tbsp margarine use 3/4 Tbsp oil
- 1 Tbsp butter use 3/4 Tbsp oil
Substituting between liquid and solid fat works well in all recipes except frosting, pie crust, and candy.
