Baked Egg Custard


  • 2 goose eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar or 1/3 cup honey
  • 4 cups milk, scalded
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • nutmeg


Serves 6 to 8. Beat eggs slightly. Add sugar and vanilla and combine (if using honey, add to scalded milk). Pour milk slowly over egg mixture. Stir until thoroughly mixed. Pour into lightly greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Set dish in flat pan containing 1/2" of hot water. Bake 50 minuts at 325F.
