Basic Uncooked Buttercreme Frosting

Ingredients

  • 3 egg yolks
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 stick butter chilled

Instructions

Put first 3 ingredients in electric blender and blend until well mixed. Add softened butter a little at a time to blend. Then blend in the firm butter a little at a time until creamy and thick. Variations: Before adding butter add 1 square melted and cooled unsweetened chocolate or 1 teaspoon instant coffee or both.
